Peace of mind that you're compliant and in safe hands

Our accountancy division CloudAccountant.co.uk is an ICAEW regulated firm, giving you peace of mind. Appointing CloudAccountant.co.uk will ensure you get an accountancy firm who is qualified, committed and accountable.

We offer contractors the flexibility to move between our Umbrella.co.uk PAYE and CloudAccountant.co.uk limited accountancy services, depending on the IR35 status of the contracts.

The difference between contracting through an umbrella company or a limited company

The biggest difference between operating via an umbrella company or through your own limited company is paperwork! If you operate through an umbrella company like Umbrella.co.uk, you will be an employee and they will be responsible for all your income tax and National Insurance contributions. Like employees in any other company, you will also be entitled to all statutory employment benefits like maternity, sick and holiday pay.

However, if you choose to operate through your own limited company, you will be responsible for your own tax obligations as a company director. Don’t worry though, our friendly expert accountants will support you with admin and advice so you can focus on your work.

As a rule of thumb, operating through an umbrella company is usually a better option for contractors on short contracts or who earn less than £35,000 per year.

Not sure whether a limited company is the right move for you?
