From our experience we have compiled some tips for umbrella company workers who are looking for a new contract.

The Commons Committee of Public Accounts has issued a Report on Off-Payroll Arrangements in the Public Sector (i.e. people working for Public bodies that are paid but not as employee).

For very large employers and the employees working through them the first stage date for auto enrollment occurred on 1st October 2012.

The reason most contractors are recommended to join an umbrella company scheme is that current HMRC tax legislation dictates that contractors have to be paid with PAYE tax and National insurance contributions (NICs) deducted i.e. it is not possible to be paid cash in hand and account for your own tax.
