charity Articles raises £530 for Willow Wood Hospice

Umbrella’s charity of the month was Willow Wood Hospice. Based in Ashton under Lyne, they provide free specialist palliative care for patients with life limiting illnesses.

Umbrella staff held an office bake sale, mini golf and raffle which raised £280. We’d like to thank Centralus, our pension and employee rewards scheme provider, for their generous donation of £250. Also we are really extremely grateful for the amazing raffle donations from local businesses including Holt Business Supplies, Manchester City, The Body Shop, Morrisons, Chariot Office Supplies, Cloud Accountant and Gallagher Joinery.

East Cheshire Hospice’s Winter Dreams Ball

By way of reward for their Employee of the Month awards in 2018, 10 members of staff enjoyed the East Cheshire Hospice’s Winter Dreams Ball on 30th November.  Everyone had a fantastic time and enjoyed the top quality food and entertainment.

We were delighted to be able to acknowledge and reward the contributions of all of our Employees of the Month over the last year, as well as offer further support to the East Cheshire Hospice who we have fundraised for as our nominated charity in 2018.


Nick Holmes, CEO, presented Jen Hughes, Regional Fundraiser, and the Wish Bear a cheque at our Wilmslow head office.

Stacey, our brave Contracts Administrator, took the heart-warming decision to shave off her gorgeous hair at the weekend in support of her poorly grandma. Stacey has raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Her colleagues in Customer Services greeted her with matching bald heads this morning in support of her cause. Customer Services Manager Sarah said "We're all really proud of you Stacey and you still look hot!" You can still sponsor Stacey here supporting East Cheshire Hospice are delighted to be able to present a cheque for £2912.80 to the East Cheshire Hospice ( this week. 

The Hospice has long been a cause have liked to support and the funds raised from recent activities will we hope go in some small way to supporting the fantastic work they do.

We are delighted to announce that we have chosen East Cheshire Hospice as our nominated charity for 2018. As a 500 Club Member are committed to raising as much money as possible for the hospice through staff fundraising events.

Although there are many worthy charities out there, is Wilmslow based and we prefer to support local charities in the community where we operate and many of our staff live.

East Cheshire Hospice provide compassionate care and support to many local families and we are proud to support their invaluable work.

The 2016 ‘Employees of the Month’ were rewarded with a ticket to the When You Wish Upon a Star charity ball last Saturday night.

A spectacular welcome by storm troopers and Darth Vader was followed by a champagne reception, superhero glitter booth, dinner and entertainment.

Batman, Cat Woman, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman all partied with staff along with a host of Corrie and Emmerdale stars until the early hours.  

Some of the ladies were left a little hot under the collar by Spiderman’s superhero outfit and Louise took a shine to Batman! Matt and Steve were caught on video perfectly executing the Spice girls A-Z Rap and Annie bagged the most celebrity selfies.

We'll be doing our bit in a Christmas knit for Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day!

On Friday 18th December, we'll be wearing our Christmas jumpers with pride, and making our woollies worthy by donating to the cause to help families in difficulty.

We love Christmas and can't wait for the 18th, so we're warming up and going all out with festive knits every Friday throughout December!
