Umbrella Company Humour

7 February 2014

It's good to see that HMRC have a sense of humour when they published the 10 oddest excuses they have received from people who were late submitting their tax returns!

Obviously behind the humour is a serious message that if you haven’t already done so then you are now late submitting your tax return and will be fined!

Our personal favourite was the person who was too busy cruising around the world on their yacht. We couldn’t see them getting much sympathy!

Key is to get your return in and any tax payment before the end of February to avoid much larger fines and penalties.

The good news for umbrella company workers is that their earning while working for an umbrella company already have PAYE and National Insurance deducted at source.
