ContractorCalculator.co.uk have reported that HMRC have only issued 193 IR35 investigation letters between 1st April 2012 and 9th November 2012.

In a Freedom of Information request HMRC confirmed 34 of these had been closed with no liability and the remainder are ongoing.

HMRC also confirmed that no additional IR35 tax liability has yet arisen from the investigations.
