What is an Over-arching Contract?

An overarching contract with an umbrella company allows you to be recognised as an employee of the umbrella company and to therefore benefit from the statutory entitlements of being an employee.

It also enables you to benefit from the beneficial tax treatment of being reimbursed for travel and subsistence (food and drink) tax free while working at a temporary place of employment i.e. working at the end client's premises (as the contract recognises your permanent work place as your home).
