Umbrella.co.uk announces East Cheshire Hospice as nominated charity for 2018

We are delighted to announce that we have chosen East Cheshire Hospice as our nominated charity for 2018. As a 500 Club Member Umbrella.co.uk are committed to raising as much money as possible for the hospice through staff fundraising events.

Although there are many worthy charities out there, Umbrella.co.uk is Wilmslow based and we prefer to support local charities in the community where we operate and many of our staff live.

East Cheshire Hospice provide compassionate care and support to many local families and we are proud to support their invaluable work.

The 2016 Umbrella.co.uk ‘Employees of the Month’ were rewarded with a ticket to the When You Wish Upon a Star charity ball last Saturday night.

A spectacular welcome by storm troopers and Darth Vader was followed by a champagne reception, superhero glitter booth, dinner and entertainment.

Batman, Cat Woman, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman all partied with Umbrella.co.uk staff along with a host of Corrie and Emmerdale stars until the early hours.

Some of the Umbrella.co.uk ladies were left a little hot under the collar by Spiderman’s superhero outfit and Louise took a shine to Batman! Matt and Steve were caught on video perfectly executing the Spice girls A-Z Rap and Annie bagged the most celebrity selfies.

Umbrella.co.uk's spooky fun raised over £300.00 for East Cheshire Hospice. Staff made such a tremendous effort dressing up and baking cakes, the Directors have generously doubled the fundraising total!

East Cheshire Hospice  is a haven of care and calm for people facing challenges at the end of their lives who live in the communities of Buxton, Congleton, High Legh, High Peak, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Poynton, Wilmslow and the villages and hamlets in between.

Neil Armitage, Operations Director, Umbrella.co.uk commented, “Raising money for a worthy cause is always something we’ve done at Umbrella.co.uk but when the opportunity came up to run through a massive bubble wall with my 9 year old daughter I jumped at the chance! Myself, Sarah Kinder and Louisa Lockton all took members of our family and had a brilliant time running through the bubbles and my daughter has already asked if we can do it again next year.

I almost feel guilty for having so much fun as I thought you were supposed to carry out some form of endurance event to raise money for charity but this was a day that everyone enjoyed thoroughly and pushed us towards almost a £1,000 total for our chosen charity”

Our employees of the year had a great time at the When You Wish Upon a Star's 20th Black & White Ball on Saturday night.

The team snapped some great celeb selfies with stars such as Saracen from Gladiators, Nikki Sanderson from Hollyoaks, Will Mellor and the singer Carly Paoli.

A fabulous dinner and bubbly was followed by dancing into the night with some 'special moves' from Adam in Customer Services.

Umbrella.co.uk are proud to support and fundraise for this amazing charity who continue to grant the wishes of children living with life threatening illnesses.
