Call volume has fallen by almost 40% in customer services since the introduction of the new T&S legislation.

We have therefore created a customer service hub serving both umbrella and accountancy customers which will offer first line support for all customer telephone enquiries.  This will be available from 1 June 2016.

The Great Umbrella Bake Off 2016 begins! Umbrella Accountants will be battling it out with their baking skills.

This week Sarah Smith’s Glitter ball and edible flower chocolate fudge cake has set the baking bar high!

We have 20 staff taking part so expect more than a bakers dozen of delicious cakes over the coming months! To make sure everyone in the department takes part they have the motto “No Bakey, No Cakey!”

Congratulations to apprentice Nicola Worthington who is working towards her AAT Level 3 accountancy qualification at Macclesfield College and spend four days per week getting practical experience at Umbrella.co.uk

Umbrella Accountants has recruited four young apprentices from local colleges to help the company capitalise on growth and boost the digital arm of its business.

Benjamin Smallman, 16; Sheraz Sheikh, 18; Liam Parker, 19; and Nicola Worthington, 23; have all joined Umbrella in training roles over the last couple of months.

In addition to their college accountancy course, which they attend one day per week, the group gains practical experience of everyday working life at Umbrella Accountants.

We'll be doing our bit in a Christmas knit for Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day!

On Friday 18th December, we'll be wearing our Christmas jumpers with pride, and making our woollies worthy by donating to the cause to help families in difficulty.

We love Christmas and can't wait for the 18th, so we're warming up and going all out with festive knits every Friday throughout December!

Some happy reminders from last year!

This week Roxy Gannon is battling it out with her Tres Leches Cake.

“The words “tres leches” means three milks in Spanish. And true to its name, this cake is made with three different milks. This coconut version of Tres leches cake is popular in my family every year in preparation for Eid. It’s simple to bake and gets its richness from a trio of coconut, sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk. A topping of coconut adds an even yummier boost of sweetness.”

Each year at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, many British people observe a Two Minute Silence. Armistice Day on 11 November marks the end of the First World War and is a day to remember and honour those who have paid the price for our freedom. Today remembers not only those who fought not only in World Wars, but the more than 12,000 British Servicemen and women killed or injured since 1945.

Those Umbrella.co.uk staff that wish to,  will be observing the Two Minute Silence at 11am today. We hope that our customers and suppliers will understand that we will not be making or answering calls whilst we pay our respects.
